Lemon Garlic Shrimp
These Lemon Garlic Shrimp are so delicious and one of the easiest and quickest dishes you can prepare at home. This is such a wonderful flavorful aromatic delicious dish.
We are huge lovers of garlic in my house. The more the better as far as we are concerned. I love the way my house smells when I have been sauteing garlic. That is the Italian in me and I love it.
Easy Garlic Shrimp
This Lemon Garlic Shrimp is the way to my husband’s heart. This is one of our favorite dishes. We have a very special Italian restaurant that we love and had one of our first dates at, one of their best dishes is their garlic shrimp. This recipe is just as good as theirs and that could not make me happier.
What Type Of Shrimp To Use
For this shrimp you need to reach for raw shrimp. I prefer shrimp that already has the shell removed along with being deveined.
This saves time on cleaning and prepping if you buy shrimp that is already prepared.
What To Pair With Lemon Shrimp
Pasta whether you reach for spaghetti style noodles or even rigatoni. You will find this recipe is awesome.
Or reach for rice! Another great option. But if you want to keep carbs low, cauliflower rice or mash would be awesome as an alternative,
You could also reach for a side like asparagus or even broccoli. Feel free to play around with sides and let me know what is your favorite.
How to Devein Shrimp
If you have shrimp that you bought that needs to be deveined it isn’t too hard.
- Start by removing the shells off the shrimp and tail.
- Then take a knife and make a slit down the back of the shrimp. This will expose the black vein.
- With a toothpick or wooden skewer place it near the black line sticking wooden item under and lift up.
- This will remove the vein easily. Repeat to all shrimp until veins are removed.
You can spend a bit extra and buy deveined or take time to remove the vein yourself.
Can I Use Cooked Shrimp
Unfortunately using cooked shrimp in the recipe will not work. It will overcook the shrimp causing it to be rubbery and loss of the flavor you want.
Raw shrimp is a must for this lemon garlic shrimp.
Does Shrimp Store Well Once Cooked
Shrimp is best when served warm and fresh. While you can save shrimp you will find the texture changes.
It will become more rubbery in texture as it sits in the fridge. If you reheat it, then you will find again it becomes rubbery.
If you eat this shrimp leftover it is best served cold to top a salad or something along those lines. That way you don’t overcook the shrimp.
