Holiday Peppermint Candy Cane Cookie Party #MyStopandShop
I just love the holidays. This year Christmas is being hosted by me. I can’t wait to have everyone over to our new home to celebrate the magic of Christmas. One thing I have learned over the years, I am a better hostess when I am not stressed over cooking a huge complicated meal. Stop & Shop has always been my go to store for helping me with the stress of holiday hosting.
I guess I am not the only hostess that suffers from the stress of hosting. Stop & Shop has an entire Limited Time Original Holiday Inspired Collection line of food that takes the stress away and also helps me plan my menu. I can walk into their store, get so inspired and decide what I will be serving based on what is available in the Holiday Inspired Collection. I can put together an elegant affair without all the stress and complications of making it from scratch myself.
I wanted to do a little pre-Christmas party for my boys and their friends to really embrace the spirit of the holiday. I ran over to Stop & Shop to grab everything I needed for my boys party. While shopping, I got so many delicious easy dinner ideas for Christmas day. Here are a couple of goodies that will be on my Christmas menu.
I can never resist a delicious baked brie. This orange cranberry baked brie is just delicious!! It will be perfect for Christmas day dinner.
This incredible Sweet Potato Soup with Cranberries will go perfectly with dinner. I love a nice warm soup and being able to serve this delicious soup without all the stress of making it from scratch just warms my heart with joy.
There are so many delicious holiday inspired foods, I am already less stressed just thinking about Christmas dinner. Now it was time to redirect my thinking to my boys holiday cookie party I was planning. I definitely can not take the credit for coming up with the peppermint candy cane theme, Stop & Shop gets all the credit as you can see below.
I grabbed a box of peppermint chocolate sandwich cookies, a box of peppermint dark chocolate covered sandwich cookies, a bag of peppermint crushed baking chips, ready bake sugar cookies, a bag of candy cane kisses, whipped topping, vanilla wafers, animal crackers, and a some peppermint flavored seltzer water. I already had lots of candy canes and peppermint candies at home so I knew I could come up with some amazing treats for this sweet holiday cookie party. Now properly named, our holiday peppermint candy cane cookie party.
I loved that I only needed to open the box of the peppermint chocolate sandwich cookies and peppermint dark chocolate covered sandwich cookies. Then I would prepare a few quick and easy recipes to finish off my peppermint candy cane cookie theme.
First I baked a batch of candy cane sugar cookies. I used ready to bake sugar cookies. Sprinkled peppermint crushed baking chips on them before I baked them. Once out of the oven I stuck a candy cane kiss in the center and then let them cool.
Next up was a delicious peppermint candy cane dip. Words can not express how amazingly delicious this dip is! It was so simple to make too! I will be making a batch of this for Christmas dinner as well, it was just too good! I used a 8 ounce container of whipped topping, 2 drops of peppermint extract, and peppermint crushed baking chips. I measured the baking chips to taste but used about a half a cup and then sprinkled some more on top after mixing. I served this with some vanilla wafers and animal crackers. It was the hit of the party.
