Blue Hawaiian Helicopter Tour
I was recently invited to the Jumaji press junket by Sony Pictures. To my sheer delight the junket location was Oahu, Hawaii. This was my dream press junket invite. My one and only dream vacation was to go to Hawaii. So many dreams were about to come true.
Just before leaving for the press junket I was asked some personal information such as my height and weight (EEK!!!!) for a secret activity. I provided the information (thankfully, truthfully) and my curiosity began trying to kill the cat.
My anxiety levels really stepped up a few notches as I was trying to figure out what activity would require this sort of information. Shortly after arriving in Hawaii I learned what our secret activity entailed. We were going to tour Oahu and some of the movie scene locations from a helicopter. Screeeeeecccccchhhhhhh!!!!!!!! What??!!!!!!! I have an extremely irrational fear of heights.
As a Mommy blogger, I am a complete professional. This was one of those moments in life where I had no choice but to face my fears. This was also an important theme within the movie so it made it more appropriate for me to have to face my own fears.
I was greeted immediately at the airport by this Blue Hawaiian beauty.
Which brought out this immediate reaction from me.
I was terrified!!! But once again, there was no way I would risk my professional reputation by crawling into a fetal position right there in the middle of the Blue Hawaiian office.
Our pilot was so warm and welcoming I immediately felt at ease. As the helicopter started to fly, our headphones started playing the tunes of some of the most Zen-like music. As I looked out the windows and saw this stunning view and I realized that I was being treated to something absolutely magical.
Our tour included the lush valley where many scenes from jumanji were filmed. One of my favorite views was of the Dole Pineapple Plantation.
We flew over the coral reefs of Waikiki, the white-sand Waimanalo beach, soared over the cliffs of the Nuuanu Valley, and incredible views of Pearl Harbor, the Arizona Memorial and the Battleship Missouri.
Have you ever flown in a helicopter? I would love to hear about your experience and what beautiful sights you saw.
Thank you Sony Pictures for this most exciting adventure.
