I am getting so excited for some snow this year. As much as I hate the cold, I just love seeing my boys enjoy the snow. There is nothing more beautiful then the view out the window with lots of snow on the ground. For years and years, every time it snows, my boys take on this huge task of building a life sized igloo. They stay out there for hours and hours in the freezing cold building this elaborate igloo. I love seeing my boys out there playing but also worry tons about them being in the cold for so long. I usually have to bribe them several times to come in, dry off and let me dry their snow suits for a while. This bribery usually is done with hot chocolate. This year I will also bribe them with these delicious Hot Chocolate Spoons to dunk into their hot chocolate. I am sure I will NOT have to ask them twice to come inside.
Here are some sweet variations I made
and some more yummies
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 1 cup white chocolate chips
- Plastic spoons
Place 1/2 cup of chocolate chips in a microwave safe bowl, heat in the microwave for 30 second intervals.
Stir after each 30 seconds until melted and smooth.
Dip the spoons into the melted chocolate.
The first color chocolate, you will want to cover the whole bowl of the spoon as pictured above.
Place each spoon, once dipped, onto a sheet of wax paper.
Once first batch dries, melt your second color of chocolate and repeat the steps.
This time dip just above where you first color of chocolate covers the bowl of the spoon.
Place back on the wax paper and sprinkle with your sprinkling of choice.
I used a variety of Christmas colored sprinkles and crushed candy canes.
